It started with SPICE
I’m asked all the time how I got into this work and the answer is simple.
I had to!
After moving an hour away and starting over I didn’t know what the hell to do. I loved photography but through researching my new area, I realized there were like five with in ear shot of me and I don’t like to step on toes. That is not my style!
I wanted to do something different and figured I would try boudoir. I liked the one on one environment and hey, I didn’t have to chase kids around, lol.
I reached out to a couple women I knew, set up some sessions and thought of all the scenarios in my head about how it would go. I have never been afraid of change or the need to pivot so I just ran with it. I didn’t have a clue it would lead me through the next five years of my life.
After my first session, I quickly realized I whole heartedly loved this shit!
I have always been an advocate for women and this was a whole new level that I had just unlocked. Instead of standing for them I was able to help them through some deep and often times dark emotions they were harboring about themselves.
My very first sole confided in me that her previous partner had verbally abused her so bad she couldn’t see her value anymore. I wish I could tell you after our session she was a new person but that isn’t how it works.
She did leave with a hug and a little more confidence than when she came. Over the months to come she would message me periodically about how she was and I could see she was finding herself.
To some its spicy pictures but to others its a stepping stone to liberation. I have been a part of so many journeys I can’t count anymore but the thing that remains is my goal.
My goal for you and everyone who walks through my door is you hold your head a little high when you leave, you reach for your goals a little harder, be unapologetically who you are and don’t let anyone dull your flame.
